On Thursday the 12th of November, representatives of the project ´´Operation CO2´´ and ´´Crops for better soil (LIFE 10 ENV/471),´´ carried out a technical seminar with around 100 participants at the annual fair of Biocultura in Madrid. The fair, that took place in the main Spanish citied, is organized by the Asociación Vida Sana, one of the partners of the LIFE project ´´Crops for better soil´´. In the packed hall, various speakers presented different ways to improve the soil, taking as a basis a ´´biofertilization, the alternative for the management of fertility and health of the soil´´.

During the day, various partners from the two projects conducted presentations on the importance of the soil, the state that it is in , the tasks carried out to improve the fertility which in turn generates higher crop yields.

Here you can find presentations, by clicking on the title of each of them; you can see them in pdf:

It should be noted that the event was also attended by representatives of the cooperative of Villafranca de los Caballeros (Toledo), Mr. Iván Diás-Alejo Valdepeñas (president) and Mr. Anastasio Yébenes (manager), who have shown considerable interest concerning the actions of the project since 2013. The cooperative manages 3,000 acres in organic farming and has served as an intermediary to replicate various methodologies that have been promoted in the project Crops for better soil.

At the beginning of the event, the counselor at the Embassy of the Netherlands on agriculture, Doña Tineke Zwitser, offered support and enthusiasm about the dissemination of the results of the two projects and the effort made to not only improve the employment opportunities in the countryside but also to ensure that the soil remains an essential element for its preservation and improvement.

We take this opportunity to thank all the participants for their assistance. They have been very involved in the actions that were carried out in both projects. We would also like to thank them for their empathy towards the speakers.
