Monitoring activities of the UVA in San Mateo de Gállego-VIDEO

In February 2015, specialists from the College of Agricultural Engineering visited the plantation of San Mateo de Gállego to monitor the evaluation of this area.

The wind in this area is a common phenomenon and it has made complicated the monitoring tasks. For this reason the team of UVA did the study on foot instead of doing an aerial exploration. If the weather would have allowed, the study could be completed with valuable information gathered from the air using a drone and an airplane.

For the first time trees have been measured and only 5% of the specimens has been randomly selected. This process will be carried out yearly.

The following video shows the teams of UVA (Professor Zacarías Clérigo and researcher Luis Fernando Sánchez) and a member of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Santiago Martínez) providing a short explanation of the plot and the obtained results during the first year, which have been very positive.
